Persian Food Safari
One of the fan members Ehsan kindly posted the following videos on My Persian Kitchen’s Fan Page.
The documentary was put forth by Australia’s TV program Food Safari. I personally think that it is one of the most comprehensive and well presented documentaries about Persian food that I have ever seen. Even though it was only about half an hour long, it covered so many basis. I absolutely loved the spirit of the Persians who live in Australia, the beautiful food presentation, and the recipes shared. I had never heard of Ghormeh Sabzi with duck…my, I have to have it…I HAVE to!
Ironically, two other people email me the links to the videos in the past few days, so it is making the internet rounds!! Just in case you have not seen them, here they are!
I hope you will enjoy this documentary as much as I did!

Dammetoon garm! Persian cuisine is so rich and distinct, unfortunately not widely recognized. Hence I sure enjoyed the documentary and see the great value in it as it gives the opportunity for the viewer to get a bit of an insight to our food culture, although it’s strange to me why Jason used duck insted of lamb, beef or chicken. Well, on the other hand, what’s nothing wrong with variation, right?
Great stuff! Cheers!

Thanks for you comment Mehran jan! I am confident that Persian cuisine is becoming more and more recognized and appreciated. I say this with confidence because of the reaction to my blog, and also because food magazine have taken notice. I was personally very intrigued by Ghormeh Sabzi with duck. I am all about variation, so long as it is not tuna in Fesenjan!!! 🙂

Food Safari is always great! My sister and I have a date on Thursdays to watch it, pens at the ready. @Mehran, I know, Persian cuisine is much too little known. Whenever I serve or tell people about nun-o-sabzi-o-paneer, they always say, “How is it that I’ve never heard of this before!?”
