Add Some Persian Food To Your Labor Day Weekend
It turns out that this year’s Labor Day Weekend is the most busiest one we have had in the past few years. I love being social so I am happy to see and catch up with family and friends. Tonight we are going to one of my dearest friend’s place for her and her husband’s yearly movie night. They set up a huge screen outside in their driveway and invite family and friends for a potluck dinner followed by cartoons, and then a movie. So we all show up with our folding or camping chair and watch the movie outdoors.
This year I decided to make and take the following dishes for this special occasion.
Mast-o-musir and homemade Pita Chips
Along with Borani Bademjan
If you are grilling then how about some delicious and juicy Jujeh Kabob with….
Some Balal
Or there is the ever so popular:

All those dishes look so good, and it is not because I am hungry after walking over the Vincent Thomas Bridge.
Seriously, next year, all the South Bay bloggers need to meet at the race!

I totally agree Lori Lynn, we should get together and Conquer the Bridge together…let’s hope they do it again next year. 🙂

Could you please put up more recipes for stews? I’m really excited about trying the Split Pea stew and the Celery stew this weekend 🙂

Yes Jackie, I am planning on posting more Stew recipes as I make them. 🙂 Stay tuned!

I’ll definitely stay tuned! The celery stew has been by far the best thing I’ve EVER cooked… and I’m making the split pea stew tonight. If I can make a suggestion… I’d like to suggest “ghormeh sabzi”… I’ve heard so much about it, yet I’ve never had it. Thanks! Keep up the good work on the site 🙂

Jackie,
I am so glad you made the celery khoresht and the results were good! Makes me so happy! Keep me posted on how the second one comes out! Oh how I love Ghormeh Sabzi. I have never made it before, but it is on my list of dishes to make. 🙂
